My name is David Jairath and I have been a plastic surgeon since 2004. After studying medicine at the UvA, I specialized in plastic surgery. During my training I did internships at home and abroad.
After my training I started working at the Spaarne Ziekenhuis, now the Spaarne Gasthuis with locations in Hoofddorp, Haarlem Zuid and Noord. Here I was involved in reconstructive surgery, trauma, hand and general plastic surgery.

I am extremely satisfied with my eyelid surgery by David Jairath. Because I had already had eyelid surgery in the past, I had a good idea of what to expect. That is exactly why this experience stood out as so positive.
David Jairath is a very skilled and professional surgeon, but what really sets him apart for me is how approachable and involved he is. He takes plenty of time to explain everything clearly, listens carefully to your questions and is also easy to reach after the procedure. That gave me a lot of confidence and a sense of safety throughout the whole process.
The aftercare is also excellent. You notice that you as a patient really come first and that there is genuine attention to a good recovery. Questions are answered quickly and kindly, which is very reassuring.

I am so happy with the result of my treatment with Dr Jairath. I came for a lip correction because of scar tissue, and from the first consultation I immediately had a very pleasant and trusting feeling.
Dr Jairath is a true craftsman through and through. His eye for detail, precision and professionalism immediately give you the confidence that you are in the best hands. He takes all the time you need, listens carefully to your wishes and explains everything clearly and calmly. His assistant also deserves a big compliment. I went to Mr Jairath for eyelid surgery and I am extremely satisfied with the whole process.
From the first consultation through to the operation and the aftercare, everything felt professional, clear and trustworthy. Mr Jairath is a very skilled doctor with a great deal of knowledge and experience. He knows exactly what he is talking about, puts you at ease and gives honest, good advice.

During the intake consultation with Mr David Jairath I already had a good feeling about it. He explained clearly what the procedure involved. After the intake I also received additional information by email. The procedure itself was very relaxed. He explained everything step by step during the procedure. Everything is done under local anaesthetic. We had a really nice conversation during the procedure and before you knew it the treatment was over. I received clear information on what to do after the procedure. After a week the stitches were removed. I am very satisfied with the final result.

As with other procedures, there are a small number of potential risks associated with eyelid surgery. We perform the procedure with the utmost care and attention to avoid complications as much as possible.
Temporary swelling and bruising sometimes occur after the procedure, but usually disappear within a week. Permanent scars are also rare.
With our comprehensive aftercare program, the chance of side effects is minimal. We use state-of-the-art techniques and have years of experience with hundreds of procedures.
We are happy to explain how we minimize risks and maximize recovery. Our patients know they are in good hands with us for a natural and beautiful result.
A cosmetic eyelid lift is usually not reimbursed by basic health insurance, because it is considered an elective procedure.
Sometimes supplementary insurance does offer cover. In the case of medical necessity, for example if the eyelids obstruct your vision, the eyelid correction may be reimbursed under basic health insurance.
Please contact your insurer to check whether and to what extent they will reimburse the cost of an eyelid lift in your situation.
If there is no reimbursement, you can also pay the costs yourself. We are transparent about our rates. Together with you, we look at which financial solution suits you best.
At Kliniek het Bolwerk, we value careful and confidential treatment. Although we like to show what is possible with eyelid lifting, we respect the privacy of our patients.
Therefore, we do not share medical images without permission. During a consultation, we do discuss expectations openly and honestly. Patients can also bring their own pictures.
Thus, we explain what the procedure entails and the possible results, without going into individual cases.
It is wise to rest for a few days because of swelling and bruising around the eyes. This is normal and decreases gradually.
About a week after the procedure, the sutures are removed. You can then carefully return to work and resume your normal activities.
It does take several weeks after that before the final results are visible. You usually see the greatest improvement within 2-3 weeks.
Our experience shows that clients recover relatively quickly. However, it is important to follow aftercare advice.
