The clinic is in a coach house on Staten Bolwerk, within walking distance of Haarlem station. The entrance to Staten Bolwerk 1 is on the N200, close to the station.
Coming by car? Drive past the large house and the conservatory to just beyond the coach house. The clinic has two free parking spaces there. Inside, take the stairs on the right to the first floor.
You may not drive yourself after the procedure, so arrange for someone to pick you up. Would you like to meet first without travelling? The first consultation can also be a video consultation.
Most patients come from Haarlem and the surrounding area, such as Heemstede, Bloemendaal, Zandvoort through a Velsen.
I am David Jairath, a plastic surgeon since 2004. I studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam, where I also trained as a plastic surgeon. During my training I did various placements in the Netherlands and abroad.
After my training I started working at the Spaarne Hospital in Hoofddorp. Today this is the Spaarne Gasthuis, with 3 locations in Hoofddorp, Haarlem Zuid and Haarlem Noord.
In hospital practice I worked on breast reconstructions in collaboration with general surgery, (plastic surgical) trauma, hand surgery and general plastic surgery. At the private clinic (Plastisch Cosmetisch Centrum Spaarne) I specialised further in cosmetic surgery.
I now use the many years of experience I gained there for my clients at Kliniek het Bolwerk.

Eyelid surgery
I am extremely satisfied with my eyelid surgery by David Jairath. Because I had already had eyelid surgery in the past, I had a good idea of what to expect. That is exactly why this experience stood out as so positive.
David Jairath is a very skilled and professional surgeon, but what really sets him apart for me is how approachable and involved he is. He takes plenty of time to explain everything clearly, listens carefully to your questions and is also easy to reach after the procedure. That gave me a lot of confidence and a sense of safety throughout the whole process.
The aftercare is also excellent. You notice that you as a patient really come first and that there is genuine attention to a good recovery. Questions are answered quickly and kindly, which is very reassuring.
I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend David Jairath to anyone considering eyelid surgery. A skilled surgeon with a pleasant, personal approach and excellent aftercare. I am very happy with my choice and the lovely result.

I am so happy with the result of my treatment with Dr Jairath. I came for a lip correction because of scar tissue, and from the first consultation I immediately had a very pleasant and trusting feeling.
Dr Jairath is a true craftsman through and through. His eye for detail, precision and professionalism immediately give you the confidence that you are in the best hands. He takes all the time you need, listens carefully to your wishes and explains everything clearly and calmly. His assistant also deserves a big compliment. She is extremely friendly, involved and caring and puts you completely at ease from the very first moment.
The procedure was carried out very skilfully and the result already looks better than I had dared to hope. The aftercare is also excellent. Everything is explained clearly and you can tell in every way that the work is done with genuine attention and love for the profession. I am enormously grateful for the professional and personal guidance. Eyelid surgery
I went to Mr Jairath for eyelid surgery and I am extremely satisfied with the whole process.
From the first consultation through to the operation and the aftercare, everything felt professional, clear and trustworthy. Mr Jairath is a very skilled doctor with a great deal of knowledge and experience. He knows exactly what he is talking about, puts you at ease and gives honest, good advice.
As far as I am concerned, the procedure and guidance were absolutely worth 5 stars. I am very happy with the result of the correction, my complaints have gone and I feel a lot better for it.

Eyelid surgery
During the intake consultation with Mr David Jairath I already had a good feeling about it. He explained clearly what the procedure involved. After the intake I also received additional information by email. The procedure itself was very relaxed. He explained everything step by step during the procedure. Everything is done under local anaesthetic. We had a really nice conversation during the procedure and before you knew it the treatment was over. I received clear information on what to do after the procedure. After a week the stitches were removed. I am very satisfied with the final result.

Like other procedures, eyelid surgery carries a small number of potential risks. We perform the treatment carefully to prevent complications as much as possible.
Temporary swelling and bruising sometimes occur, but usually disappear within a week. Permanent scars or marks are exceptional. With careful aftercare, the chance of side effects is minimal.
We now have many years of experience with eyelid surgery. We are happy to explain how we minimise the risks and maximise recovery. Rest assured that you are in good hands with us for a natural and attractive result.
Cosmetic eyelid surgery is usually not reimbursed by basic health insurance. Some supplementary policies do offer cover.
If there is a medical necessity, for example poor vision due to overhanging eyelids, reimbursement may be possible. Contact your insurer for more information.
You can also pay the costs yourself. We are transparent about our rates.

At Kliniek het Bolwerk we respect the privacy of our clients. Although we would like to show what is possible with eyelid surgery, we are not allowed to share images without consent.
During the consultation we do discuss expectations openly and honestly. Patients can bring their own photos. This allows us to explain the treatment process and the possible results, without going into individual cases.

In the first few days after the procedure, it is wise to take it easy because of a certain amount of swelling and bruising around the eyes. This is normal and gradually subsides.
The stitches are removed about a week after the procedure. You are then back on your feet, although it takes some time before the final results are visible.
You usually see most of the final improvement within 2 to 3 weeks. We regularly see clients recover quickly.
